We believe students don’t just learn business—they change the world through it. NEX GEN CEO is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that equips young entrepreneurs with the skills, events, mentors, and real-world opportunities to launch ventures that matter.

What We do

  • Events – Workshops and community experiences that connect students with peers and local leaders.
  • Mentors – Coaches and role models walk alongside students, providing tools and encouragement.
  • Student Business Fairs – A one-day marketplace where students launch real businesses, test ideas, and serve their communities.
  • Clubs – School-based entrepreneurship clubs that teach financial literacy, goal setting, and servant leadership.

Kaylee Stavlas

Kaylee is a UNC Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School Fellow and author of the children’s book You Can Change the World.

Kaylee is a UNC Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School Fellow and author of the children’s book You Can Change the World. As Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2024, she uses her platform to inspire youth across the state. Through NEX GEN CEO, Kaylee mentors students to dream big, lead boldly, and use business as a platform for impact.

Laura Stavlas

Laura brings over 25 years of classroom experience and a Master of Arts in Teaching to NEX GEN CEO.

Laura brings over 25 years of classroom experience and a Master of Arts in Teaching to NEX GEN CEO. She currently teaches English at North Raleigh Christian Academy and has also taught in UNC-Chapel Hill’s Master of Arts in Teaching program. Laura has served as a curriculum writer for Wake County Magnet Schools. As an entrepreneur and educator, she co-founded NEX GEN CEO to help students think critically, communicate with confidence, and build businesses that make a difference.
